Dear Patient 

Your referral has been triaged to the LLR Musculoskeletal clinic. This is a new clinic which aims to treat those patients who have an orthopaedic problem but maybe don’t need an operation straight away in order to possibly prevent surgery being needed. As a result you will hopefully be seen faster and in a local community setting.

The clinic is run by Dr Jean Wong who is a GP with a specialist interest in Musculoskeletal Medicine and has over 10 years of experience in working with orthopaedic patients.
 
Where is the clinic?

For Thursday appointments:   The clinic is based at the Expansion Room 2, Second Floor at the County Practice in Syston.  As soon as you enter the main door, you can either use the stairs on your right or lifts directly to 2nd Floor.   At the top of the stairs, turn left and wait in the chairs outside of the room until called please.  
 
For Friday appointments:   The clinic is on the ground floor at the County Practice, Syston.  Please head to main reception, Ground Floor, at the County Practice and inform them you’re here to see Dr. Wong, MSK clinic.

Please be aware that the parking for this service is on a pay meter and you must pay for your parking before entering the surgery

What can the clinic do?

The clinic can diagnose and treat musculoskeletal problems, arrange scans and offer adjuvant therapies such as corticosteroid injections if required. We can also offer exercise/weight loss/holistic patient care around your orthopaedic problem.

Who should I contact If I need to cancel/move my appointment?

Your appointment is booked via the central booking team at LLR who book all of the community clinics. The telephone number is 0116 497 5700. Please note do not contact your GP or County Practice to discuss your appointment as the reception/admin staff do not have access to your notes.

Who do I call about my scan results?

You will be seen in clinic or via telephone clinic for your result. If your appointment is within a few days of the scan please call the booking team and move it approximately 2 weeks after your scan so the radiology department have time to report it.
